A.I. Cattle Services

Cow Artificial Insemination is a great way of introducing new genetics into a herd without the costly expense of a bull. It may also improve your biosecurity by allowing you to breed your own stock bull or heifers with higher genetic merit, without the risk of buying in disease.

Whilst there is no guarantee of pregnancy, conception rates of above 80% with Cow Artificial Insemination have been achieved using our protocol.

Semen cannot be ordered through the practice but there are several companies offering delivery to your door (if you own your own tank) or to our Cholsey branch to be stored in our tank – this can be done well in advance. We are happy to offer advice – whether it is deciphering EBVs or which traits might be most valuable to your herd.
