Finding Larkmead has totally raised the game
I just wanted to let you know that we’re so grateful to everyone at the practice for being absolutely wonderful with our anxious dog, Nugget. We moved here from Croydon and never had any complaints about our previous vets, but being registered with you has totally raised the game. From practical things like being able to do phone and video consultations to minimise the need for her to come in, to massive things like always being listened to and trusted as the people who know our dog best, we couldn’t be happier.
Our vet Dan has been understanding and kind, and we are very impressed by how gentle and slow he is with her. We’ve met Nurse Poppy once, and she was brilliant, and the people we see on reception, and who staff the phone lines, are always knowledgeable and helpful.
I also wanted to specifically mention Elle, our buddy nurse, who has gone out of her way to help Nugget cope with her situational anxiety, adapting to meet her specific needs and following up with vets as necessary, on our behalf.

We feel so fortunate to have found Larkmead Vets
We feel so fortunate to have found Larkmead Vets. No matter who we deal with, from all the reception staff to the vets, the help and care received is truly outstanding. They manage each of our dogs as individuals, taking the time to get to know them and you never feel rushed. We have been so impressed with the professionalism and compassion from all the team, we wouldn’t take our dogs anywhere else.
A special thanks must go to Florena, our dog needed multiple operations and Florena has been amazing. So much so that our dog gets excited to visit and see her favourite vet!

Larkmead Vets have never failed any of my rescues
I’ve been a client of Larkmead veterinary since 2008 and I believe taking my pets anywhere else would be a disservice to my commitment to their well being. Their Life Time Gold Care plan ensures my cats have a check up every six months which has helped with early diagnosis and treatment. It spreads the costs for flea, worming and vaccines/boosters which are all inclusive within the plan. I also receive discounts on dental treatment and food I purchase at their clinic.
The emergency call out service is available 24/7 365 days a year. A service I have had to use that gave my cats Baci, Treasure and Leo extra time with me. The Cats only clinic has made a huge difference to the Veterinary visit for the more nervous cats in my care.
The Veterinarians are highly qualified and patient, taking the time to explain any diagnosis. Diagnostics results are a lot faster as a result of in-house testing. The nurses are kind and caring leaving me at ease when my cats have had to have a procedure or an overnight stay. The reception staff are always polite, respectful and helpful.
Being able to order repeat medications, food and pay invoices online is convenient and saves time.
Larkmead gives your pets their highest quality lives, by giving them the best care available. I am certain Larkmead Veterinary Practices will care for all their needs and give them long-healthy lives. They have never failed any of my rescues.

The medical care is second to none
“We have been with Larkmead for coming up to 7 years, ever since moving to the area and as recommended by our neighbour. The medical care is second to none. All the vets and staff are super friendly and caring. One of our dogs had the misfortune to cut her paw recently and the nurses went out of their way to make sure Lily dog was comfortable and subject to lots of fuss and cuddles. We especially liked the cut out stars on her bandage! I really like the fact that it isn’t part of a big chain that you see in so many places and that there are several branches you can go to in Didcot and Cholsey. They recognise the importance seeing the same vet throughout treatment and accommodate this as far as they can.
Cannot recommend highly enough.”

We can’t recommend Larkmead enough!”
“A year ago we adopted two cats from the streets of Egypt who had both lost their eyes due to untreated infections. The wonderful vets at Larkmead fully explored ways to make our two little blind girls more comfortable as we slowly healed each issue they experienced and got their tricky eye sockets to heal up. The Larkmead vets have thrown themselves into treating them and making sure they are always happy and comfortable in life, and are always thinking about next steps if treatments don't work. As they are blind both cats need certain methods of interaction, and this is what the cat vets at Larkmead are especially good at, as the girls are calmer when the vets purr at them and introduce themselves slowly before handling them.
The cat experts at Larkmead like Ellen and Rhianna are especially fantastic with our two blind girls, putting them at ease, and the small animal vet, Zoe, does an amazing job with our rabbits too.
