Celebrating our wonderful vet nurses!

This month is British Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month and we’ve been taking the opportunity to celebrate our wonderful vet nurses here at Larkmead. We asked some of our practice staff, from vets to receptionists, why they think our vet nurses are the cat’s whiskers – here’s what they said...

Vet nurse Emily with a patient

Vet Clare:

“We have a lovely team of nurses at Larkmead that run our nurse clinics. They support our pet owners when dieting overweight animals or looking after diabetic animals for example. They care for our patients with compassion, however short or long the animal’s stay with us. They also keep us in order and on our toes at all times!”

Vet Janet:

“Our nurses always go the extra mile to provide personal care to our in-patients. They often try all sorts to get them eating, they groom them, and always do their best to make our patients happy and their stay as stress-free as possible.”

Head receptionist Steph:

“I think we have an amazing nurse and VNA (Veterinary Nurse Assistant) team. They all have a true commitment and sincere depth of care to the animals that stay with us.”

Reception team member Sally:

“I can’t praise our nurses enough, they are so hard working, caring and professional.   They are a pleasure to work with.”

Vet Alex:

“Larkmead has a fantastic team of highly skilled nurses. They work tremendously hard, often in the face of adversity, and maintain a huge amount of compassion for the animals in their care."
