LARKMEAD VETS "LETS TALK SHEEP" FARMER MEETING

Larkmead Vets held a really interesting sheep workshop on 24th July, covering the importance of using EBV’s to help select rams and the all-important biosecurity measures sheep you should follow when bringing new sheep on to your holding. 

Some key take-home messages included:

  • Purchase from a reputable source and don’t be afraid to question the vendor about the flock history;
  • Follow quarantine treatment protocols for worms, liver fluke and scab (+/- infectious causes of lameness);
  • Isolate the sheep away from the main flock for 21 days minimum.
