KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR KENNEL COUGH

We have seen an increase in the number of dogs with Kennel Cough in the last few weeks.

Kennel Cough is a nasty cough that can develop in any dog that has had contact with an infected dog or environment where an infected dog has recently been.

Your dog doesn’t have to have been in kennels to develop the disease.  It is caused by a number of viruses and one bacteria called Bordetella Bronchiseptica.

Although treatable, anyone who has had a dog with kennel cough understands that it can be debilitating and that is especially severe in puppies and older dogs.

There is an effective vaccine available which can start working in as little as 72 hours and we would recommend it for any dog who has regular contact with other dogs.
