This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly Office Team at Cholsey.  The role requires an experienced administrator used to working in a fast paced and varied environment to offer administrative support to all teams across Larkmead. The role is full time 37.5 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities

  • To manage projects as assigned
  • To assist the marketing team with creation and posting of social media content
  • To prepare and manage internal and external events
  • To prepare reports, presentations and statistical data as required
  • To maintain and update Larkmead records accurately
  • To ensure all lab results are recorded and charged correctly
  • To answer the telephone and take accurate messages
  • To resolve queries from colleagues and clients
  • To manage, store and file correspondence
  • To maintain the office as a clean and safe work environment
  • To participate in training and development activities as required
  • To attend team and practice meetings as required
  • To follow Larkmead policies, protocols and procedures
  • To provide a friendly, efficient and caring service to all clients and their animals

Essential skills

  • To be thorough, with a keen eye for detail.
  • To be comfortable with reviewing financial data and producing reports.
  • To run with ideas from implementation to completion.

Trainee Nurse (Small Animal)

Due to an expanding nursing team, we have an exciting vacancy for a caring, capable, and enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly nursing team, providing care and treatment to our patients.

We are an RCVS accredited training practice and will provide practical work-based training to the right candidate. We are looking for someone who would like to enter into the nursing profession and has previous experience in a clinical or animal environment.

The role is full time, 40 hours per week (including some nights and weekends on a rota basis with time off in lieu) and a full driving licence is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide care and treatment for all patients under clinical supervision
  • Assisting experienced vets and nurses in surgery
  • In-patient care as directed by the veterinary team
  • Work in conjunction with the nursing team to provide a high level of care to our patients
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach
  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in clinical, kennel and cattery areas
  • Competently assist the clinical team with animal handling and restraint
  • To use our on-site analysis laboratory

Registered Veterinary Nurse (Small Animal)

Due to an expanding nursing team, we have an exciting vacancy for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team, providing care to our patients and assisting the veterinary team.

Larkmead is an independent first-opinion mixed practice based in South Oxfordshire. As an expanding team, we are developing a career pathway for our nursing team and welcome applications from nurses of all levels.

The role is full time, 40 hours per week (including some nights and weekends on a rota basis with time off in lieu) and a full driving licence is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide care and treatment for all patients under clinical supervision
  • Assisting experienced vets in surgery including orthopaedics
  • Assisting vets with the medical care of in-patients
  • To provide support and training to our student nurses
  • Opportunity to engage with nurse clinics and puppy parties for our clients.
  • To ensure high standard of cleanliness in the clinical care areas
  • Taking and running of blood samples using our on-site analysis laboratory
  • Opportunity to progress as a Clinical Coach if desired (training provided)

Registered Veterinary Night Nurse (Small Animal)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team in our busy South Oxfordshire practice. We are looking for an experienced Nurse to help care for our inpatients and to assist the Vets with emergencies covering our out of hours emergency service through the night. You will be required to work to a high standard and have good communication skills. A drivers licence is essential to be able to transfer patients when required.

12 hour shifts on a rota, working 3 or 4 nights on alternate weeks. We are open to discussion on working patterns for the right candidate.

Receptionist (Small Animal)

We are currently seeking a full time receptionist to join our friendly team and are seeking someone with experience with client care or a strong customer facing background. This is a full-time post that would suit someone who puts the client at the heart of their role, not necessarily currently in the veterinary world but definitely in a busy, service focused environment. Full training on our systems will be given. The right candidate will be expected to use their own initiative, have a full driving licence and be available to work across all of our branches in South Oxfordshire. This role is full time including 1 in 4 shifts on the weekend rota (a Saturday or Sunday).

We are looking for a Veterinary Practice Assistant to join our team. No experience is necessary, but you must be friendly and outgoing, a hard worker who is keen to be part of a team that keeps the behind the scenes hospital clean, tidy and working smoothly. This is a full-time position, and a car driver is essential as you will be required to work across all of our practices in South Oxfordshire. An animal care qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.

Small Animal Vet

We are seeking a Small Animal Vet to join our friendly team. This is a full time permanent position to include some night shifts and weekends on a rota basis, although part time candidates will also be considered.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player.  You will need to work effectively as part of the Larkmead Vets Small Animal Team to provide a quality service with care and compassion.
