Pharmacy Assistant

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly team. 

The role requires an experienced administrator used to working in a fast paced and varied environment.  The applicant will have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable with reviewing financial data and producing reports.

The role is to support the pharmacy function with the supply, storing and reporting of all medicines, consumables, and all other stock items across all branches.

The role is full time, 40 hours per week, working from all Larkmead Practices so use of a car is essential. The key functions of this role are:

  • Ensure pharmacy functions are carried out within the legal requirements of the Vet Medicine Regulations to include medicine storage, temperature monitoring, record keeping, labelling requirements, in feed and home mixer prescriptions.
  • To provide efficient and accurate supply chain services to both internal and external clients.
  • To order and receive into stock medicines and other items from manufacturers and wholesalers as appropriate.
  • To ensure changes in pricing are recorded according to Larkmead procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To monitor marketplace pricing for key farm and equine products to ensure competitive pricing.
  • To use the Practice Management System to set up bespoke price lists for farm clients.
  • To undertake regular stock takes across all branches (includeding contents of practice vehicles).
  • To maintain optimal stock levels for all branches and inform colleagues of any disruption or change.
  • To measure and minimise wastage by resolving any incidences of overstocking or understocking and review stock levels as required.
  • To work with the Pharmacy Team Leader ensuring all pharmacy administrative and support tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • To adhere to policies, protocols, procedures and assist in their development where appropriate.
  • To liaise and participate in the XLVets pharmacy group sharing relevant concepts and ideas, selling near dated stock/overcoming stock shortage problems and identifying other suitable products.

Office Administrator

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly Large Animal Office at Cholsey.  The role requires an experienced administrator used to working in a fast paced and varied environment.

The aim of the role is to provide excellent customer service to our Large Animal Clients and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the office.

The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To answer the telephone and take accurate messages, including registering clients, taking payments, booking veterinary site visits, taking and preparing medicine orders.
  • To ensure TB tests are booked efficiently and XLFarmcare protocols are adhered to.
  • To ensure all lab fees are recorded and charged correctly.
  • To assist in the production of the monthly Large Animal Accounts
  • To participate in Large Animal Client Credit Control.
  • To prepare regular reports, presentations statistical data as required.
  • To resolve queries from colleagues and clients.
  • To maintain diaries and schedule appointments.
  • To arrange internal and external events.
  • To manage, store and file correspondence.
  • To maintain and update Larkmead databases accurately.
  • To manage projects as assigned.
  • To provide support for small animal reception as required.
  • To maintain the office as a clean and safe work environment.
  • To participate in training and development activities as required.
  • To attend team and practice meetings as required.
  • To follow correct policies, protocols and procedures.
  • To provide a friendly, efficient and caring service to all clients and their animals

Client Care Leader

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly Practice Co-ordinators Management team. The role requires a confident candidate to take the lead on client care within Larkmead. Applicants will have a proven background in identifying and leading change in order to improve the customer experience, not necessarily within the veterinary industry but in a busy, client focussed environment. They will have proven excellent people management and leadership skills and a desire to join a dynamic, growing organisation. This role is across all of our branches in South Oxfordshire for a minimum of 30hpw to full-time.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading and motivating the Front of House and Lifetime Care Club teams to ensure we maintain a positive culture of client care.
  • Developing and updating client care service policies and procedures.
  • Handling complex customer enquiries with support from the clinical team.
  • Analysing management information to ensure clients are receiving an excellent standard of care.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation using our PMS and other modes.
  • Leading the recruitment, development, and appraisal of the team.
  • Keeping up to date with ever-changing client care developments.
  • Challenging and promoting efficient use of our systems and processes to enable growth and facilitate expansion of our capabilities.
  • Reviewing our Lifetime Care Club and ensuring we are delivering for our club members.
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to internal and external frameworks.
  • Reporting on service delivery to include performance metrics to the Senior Management Team
  • Encouraging continual development of expertise and client care excellence in the team.
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects as required.

Veterinary Practice Assistant

We are looking for a full-time veterinary practice assistant to join our nursing team. You must be a car driver to work across all our practices in South Oxfordshire and be keen to learn how to support our nursing team in offering excellent care to our patients. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given to the right, enthusiastic candidate.

Small Animal Vet

We are seeking a Small Animal Vet to join our friendly team. This is a full time permanent position to include some night shifts and weekends on a rota basis, although part time candidates will also be considered.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player.  You will need to work effectively as part of the Larkmead Vets Small Animal Team to provide a quality service with care and compassion.
