Qualified Veterinary Nurse

At Larkmead Veterinary Group we have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly independent practice in South Oxfordshire.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) including some night shifts and weekends on a Rota basis. The successful candidate will be a confident team player with excellent communication skills. You will be required to work alongside our highly skilled veterinary surgeons and nurses and support the care, consideration and treatment of all patients and their owners.

Clinical coach qualification is desirable but not essential as training can be provided. Applicants must be a car owner as you will be required to work across all our practices in South Oxfordshire. Closing date: 31st January 2020

Stock Controller

We are looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join our friendly team. 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in this type of role and will be a courteous, professional, organised, self-sufficient individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work using their own initiative. They will also be experienced with MS Excel and Outlook. This role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week based at our Head Office in Cholsey, delivering to all of our branches in South Oxfordshire.

Duties will Include:

  • Maintaining appropriate levels of stock at all branches
  • Ensure stock is ordered and incorporated into the pharmacy appropriately
  • Ensuring that stock rotation takes place, short dated stock is flagged up and all wastage is recorded
  • Ensuring that all rebate statements are received from suppliers and passed to the clinical pharmacy leads and accounts departments
  • Communicate any impending stock shortages and/or new products, items on back order
  • Implement training across all teams where appropriate for pharmacy
  • Ensure all pharmacy protocols and processes are standardised across all locations
  • Prepare repeat prescriptions and medicines to be distributed to other branches
  • Ensure stock takes are carried out across all branches as required
  • Maintain up to date COSHH records
  • Ensuring that temperature records are kept for all rooms and fridges in which stock is stored
  • Ensuring that records are kept of all purchases and returns as appropriate
  • Submit a monthly report to SMT to include stock take, temperature monitoring and wastage

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE level or above with a strength in maths
  • Current valid Driving Licence
  • Stock Control and Administration background
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel & Outlook software
  • IT Literate to enable competence in our practice management system
  • Attention to detail
  • SQP qualification desirable or a familiarity with medical products

Larkmead Vets are seeking a newly qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly small animal team. 

Based in South Oxfordshire with good links to the M40 and the M4, we have 5 small animal practices and 2 large animal, providing an excellent 24 hour service to our clients.

We are independent and have full hospital facilities allowing career development in a wide range of disciplines with funded CPD and full support given. Shared accommodation is available.
